5 Under $5

Because great makeup under $5 exists!

Sometimes the best products don't need to cost an obscene amount, they can be as cheap as $5 or under. There's a wealth of great makeup out there that won't break the bank, do the job, and sometimes even better than the high end stuff. So if you're looking for some cheap and cheerful products that just might be your new favorites, read on.

Wet 'n Wild Eyeshadow Palettes

This brand has come a long way, going from being bottom barrel of the drugstore to a beauty community fave. The reformulation of their eyeshadows years ago was one of the best things to happen, and since they've branched out with single shadows, trios, 5-pan, 8-pan etc. Everyone's darling is, of course, The Comfort Zone palette which has an array of warm and cool toned colors, the texture is buttery smooth, and the payoff intense.

essence Mascaras

I have been testing out at least 6 different tubes of essence brand mascaras, and I haven't found one I don't like. They're so good! My personal favorite is the  Get Big Lashes! Volume Triple Black mascara, with the All Eyes On Me Multi-Effect mascara coming in at second. Richly black, great formulas, with so many different options...it's a no brainer.

Jordana Easyliner Lip Liner

These are such good lipliners! They're not too dry or too slippery, last well, and come in a good color range. I find them to be a comfortable lip liner formula, and particularly like the Nude Pink shade.

NYC In a New York Minute Nail Polish

I love these nail polishes. Great colors, they dry quick, and they're bottle size makes them easy for me to store. Chinatown is a lovely inky blue shade, and one of my absolute favorite dark navy colored polishes.

e.l.f. Small Tapered Brush

This brush is so good for applying powder and highlighter. It would also be a great one for contouring and bronzing as well. I use it mostly to put powder under my eyes and where I need, and it's just the right size for the task. It's fluffy, easy to clean, multipurpose, and works just as well as more expensive brush brands.
